Social-educational initiatives centre PLUS (SEI) was established in 2012. Since then SEI actively has been participating in developing social network with NGO’s working in immigrants integration field, organizing trainings for NGO‘s, seeking to develop competence in project management cycle, organizing Lithuanian language courses, socio-cultural events and art therapy courses for immigrants, also organizing trainings for volunteers, social work students.
In 2013 SEI in cooperation with Tolerant Youth Association started to implement project „Consultation and information centre PLUS. The project is implemented according to the annual European Fund for the Integration of Third-country nationals Programme 2012.
In 2013 SEI implemented a project at national level focused on building tolerance among different social groups. In addition SEI was financed by Youth in Action programme in 2013. SEI organized one week seminar in Georgia „INCLUSIVE MOBILITY TOWARDS YOUTH EMPLOYABLITY“ in 2014, where reflective and experiential learning strategies were used during the seminar. Beside it, SEI has got an international cooperation experience by actively participating in international scientific and practical conferences on immigration, immigrant integration issues it shows the developement of personal, social economic and other competences.
Social – educational initiatives centre PLUS also participate in the preparation of Strategic policy document for the integration of immigrants residing in Lithuanian Republic in order to contribute to the immigration policy and sustainable immigrants integration in Lithuanian Republic. Every year SEI organizes International migrant’s day, with the goal to inform and educate the members of Lithuanian society about the immigrant’s integration problems, hereby to foster tolerance and break stereotypes towards the immigrants. SEI establishers Aistė Bartkevičienė and Ieva Mukauskaitė are the graduates of social work programme (Master degree) and have a great personal experience in administrating and implementing social, intercultural projects.
